RF Salvidge Farms Limited
RF Salvidge Farms Limited (RFSF) has been operating a centre at Bunny Lane since 1972 for waste transportation and recycling by the Salvidge family. The company RF Salvidge Farms Limited was acquired by Waltet Limited in 2006. Under the Waltet banner the business has enjoyed heavy investment, modernisation and expansion to provide a full range of services. The site is able to deal with a range of construction derived waste, green waste, tarmac, wood, inert soils and concrete, along with demolition waste including metals.
Romsey recycles on average 80% of every builder's skip and 90% of all inert waste. The use of recycled aggregates is a planning condition for most construction projects as it not only reduces pressure on landfill but reduces the need for primary aggregate extraction, much of which comes from other counties and increases the building's carbon footprint.
